This week on DANCE BEHIND THE SCREEN PODCAST…
[0:28] Martheya and Azaria introduce Mette Edvardsen

QUESTIONS WITH METTE EDVARDSEN
[3:43] Martheya asks: “For our listeners who aren’t familiar with you or your work, can you walk us through your career and how you came to being an artist? How would you describe your art?”
[7:11] Azaria asks: “I’m curious to hear more about your break from dance and also this time with mime. Can you speak more about this break from dance?”
[11:35] Martheya asks: “How would you describe your art right now?”
[13:01] Martheya asks: “How do you define performing arts?”
[14:46] Martheya asks: “Jonathan Burrows shared your installation Time has fallen asleep in the afternoon sunshine” and described how as the audience you visit a library and take out a 'book' but the book is a person who has memorised a book, and speaks it to you as you sit or walk through the building. Can you talk more about this work and your ideas for creating projects like this type of installation?”
[21:12] Azaria asks: “I’m curious about this idea of repeating again and again. I also saw your piece Black where you repeated words again and again. Is this a coincidence?”
[23:55] Azaria asks: “I’m curious about your experience that makes this such a prevalent idea in your work.”
[25:30] Martheya asks: “Could you talk about what draws you to work with certain spaces?”
[29:25] Azaria asks: “What advice do you have to emerging artists working within the performing arts?”
[31:17] Azaria asks: “What would you have said to your younger self?”
[34:10] Martheya asks: “Could you talk about your thoughts on social media. Can you talk to us about your choices around the digital space?”
[38:46] Martheya asks: “Can you talk a little bit more about how you negotiate that (video in the digital space)?”
[41:42] Azaria asks: “How do you say NO to the BOX?”
[44:20] Martheya asks: “Is there anything else you want to share with our listeners?”
