Yeajean Choi is a dance artist who creates multimedia and site-specific performances. Choi received her M.F.A
in Dance from Texas Woman’s University. Originally from Seoul, Choi earned her B.F.A in Korean Dance from the Sung Kyun Kwan University in 2012, and performed with Du-Ri Theater of Korea. Her choreography has been presented internationally at World Dance Alliance-Americas in Mexico, Dallas Dance Fest, Texas Dance Improvisation Festival, American College Dance Association, Seattle BOOST Dance Festival, Terrance M Johnson Dance Project, Dance Co-op-Big Rig Dance Collective, and the Choreographer’s Series in Korea. She was selected to choreograph at the International Young Choreographer Project, a three-week choreography residency in Taiwan. As a site dance choreographer, Choi was chosen to facilitate a choreolab at World Dance Alliance Global Summit in Canada. In 2014, she received the Excellence in Choreography Scholarship Award from Texas Woman’s University. Her dance film Infinite Journey is screened in the Sans Souci of Dance Cinema Festival in 2016. Co-directed dance film Horizontal without Landscape is selected in Seoul Dance Film Festival. Currently, Choi is an adjunct professor at Tarrant County College and Eastfield College.

Martheya G. Nygaard is a dance artist who shares her knowledge and passion of dance through the art of choreographing, performing, and creating videodance. Martheya was selected as the TWU Dance Department Outstanding Graduate Student for the 2016-2017 school year where she was the recipient of the Aileen Lockhart Endowed Scholarship. She will receive her Master of Fine Arts in 2018. Ms. Nygaard received her dance training with several ballet companies in the Dallas area and trained from a young age with Ann Atkinson, Bill Etgen, Pat and Tanju Tuzer, and Kirt and Linda Hathaway. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Ms. Nygaard is currently serving the TWU Dance Department as the Publicity Coordinator and teacher of record for dance aerobics and modern I.
