Buoyancy by Jessica Liu
Buoyancy is a reflection upon ritual amidst a serene and surreal journey through spectacular architecture. A simultaneously serene and surreal journey through Mannheim’s art nouveau Herschelbad, “Buoyancy” is a reflection upon ritual amid an exploration of spectacular architecture.
Jessica Liu is from Salt Lake City, Utah and obtained a BFA in ballet and BS in exercise physiology cum laude from the University of Utah. She is currently a soloist dancer at Nationaltheater Mannheim in Germany. Previously, Jessica performed with BODYTRAFFIC, SALT Contemporary Dance, Oakland Ballet Company, and LED, among others. She has choreographed for the University of Utah ballet department as well as other projects and schools in the Salt Lake area. Her choreography was selected for CHOP SHOP contemporary dance festival, SHIFT/west., and Mudson. Jessica’s film, “Buoyancy”, has been screened at Moving Body Festival.
