Azaria Hogans - Board
Manager of Resources and Archives, DBS Co-host
As the Manager of Resources and Archives, Azaria oversees the archival of digital and physical resources such as books, photography, video footage, websites, databases, and organizations for Evolving Laboratories and Dance Behind the Screen Podcast. This collection of data centralizes information from various locations to better assist access to dance knowledge. In addition, she serves as one of the co-hosts for Dance Behind the Screen Podcast.
Azaria Hogans is a freelance dancer, choreographer, artist scholar, and educator. She holds a M.F.A. in dance from Texas Woman’s University where she expanded her research on black modern dance. Azaria serves as the Manger of Resources and Archives for kNOwBOX Dance. Currently, Azaria is a professor at Missouri State University and covers an array of classes including contemporary, jazz, contact improvisation, dance history, composition, and West African dance forms. She has presented and performed works both nationally and internationally including Women in Dance Leadership Conference, American College Dance Association conferences, World Dance Alliance Puebla, Mexico, to name a few.
