a dream of Troffea by Bumjin Kim
Seoul, South Korea
The light of a cell phone interrupts a woman’s pure night sleep.
Bumjin Kim is a Korean filmmaker who worked as an assistant director for 20 years in major studio movies. Kim starts filming from understanding choreography as a script and keeps trying to find metaphors in moments of dancing. As a poetry of body movements, Kim delivers an understanding of dancing from choreographer to audience.
In 'a Dream of Troffea', Light is no more a metaphor of hope or peace. Before we know it, light became the noise that causes insomnia. Now, at times, pure black night is more peaceful than the brightness of the light.
